Dr. Jennifer Fergeson is a board certified allergist and immunologist. She grew up in Canada and moved to beautiful Sarasota at the age of 12. She graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School (Go Cougars!) and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of South Florida (USF). She received her medical degree from Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, at Virginia Tech. She returned to the sunshine state to complete her Internal Medicine residency and Allergy and Immunology fellowship training at USF College of Medicine. She served as chief fellow during her final year in training and stays close to her training program to serve as Clinical Professor of Medicine where she supervises medical students, residents, and allergy trainees in the Allergy Clinic at James A. Haley Veterans Administration Hospital. Dr. Fergeson also serves as Section Chief of Allergy and Immunology at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Dr. Fergeson joined Windom Allergy in 2016 and is so proud to be a part of such an amazing team of doctors, nurses and medical staff. Her husband, Matt is an architect at Fergeson Brothers Architecture and Construction, and together they have two young children.
Dr. Fergeson has a specific interest in the evaluation and management of food allergy. Through the Food Allergy Center of Florida she feels so fortunate to be able to offer her patients a treatment called oral immunotherapy (OIT) that provides safety against severe life threatening allergic reactions to various foods. She also specializes in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic urticaria/angioedema, rhinitis, drug allergy, and eczema.
Throughout her training at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, Dr. Fergeson participated in medical research as a sub-investigator for various asthma, COPD, food allergy, chronic urticaria/angioedema, and rhinitis studies. She is happy to be able to continue her involvement in medical research here at Sarasota Clinical Research.
