COVID: Face Masks

To our Windom Allergy Family,

The CDC is now recommending the use of cloth face masks for the general public when going out for essential activities. Above is the Surgeon General’s video on how to make your own “no-sew” face mask.

HOWEVER, it is important to know that these masks can create a false sense of security. The only mask that truly prevents you from catching COVID-19 is an N95 mask, which our brave healthcare workers on the front lines are in desperate need of (if you have any unused N95 mask, please consider donating them to Sarasota Memorial, Doctor’s Hospital, or any Hospital close to you).

Why even wear the cloth mask then? Because these masks help prevent YOU from spreading COVID-19 to others. The CDC is assuming everyone, even if they are asymptomatic, are carriers at this point. Thus, you wearing your face mask is helping you protect your fellow citizens, and by them doing the same, they are helping to protect YOU.

THIS DOES NOT REPLACE SOCIAL DISTANCING! Please continue to stay at least 6 feet from others and only go out for essential activities. And if you feel your allergy symptoms are getting worse and you need our help, please call to schedule a Telehealth visit to keep yourself and others safe! Let’s show our community that the Windom Allergy Family is doing our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As always, Windom Allergy is here for you.
